On his first visit to Meerut, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that his government will not tolerate incidents of harassment against women. It was for this purpose that his government ordered the constitution of anti-Romeo squads.

He also said that his government will work towards the welfare of farmers.

Talking about the tough action against the illegal slaughterhouses, he said this will continue in future as well.

People resorted to incidents of vandalism and tore Yogi Adityanath's posters in Meerut's Sher Garhi area after he didn't talk about the issue of liquor shops present in the area which is a big problem in there.
