9 dead in blast near mosque in Afghan capital Kabul

At least nine people were killed and 22 wounded in an explosion believed to have been caused by a suicide bomber near a mosque in the Afghan capital Kabul on Friday, a local police official said.
The explosion, which occurred close to Mosalla-e-Mazar area in Kabul’s PD6, happened close to a ceremony marking the death anniversary of Abdul Ali Mazari, the slain leader of Afghanistan's Islamic Unity Party, Tolo News reported.
Senior government officials were present at the ceremony.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
