15 Taliban militants killed during airstike in Afghanistan

At least 15 Taliban militants were killed and around 10 were left wounded in an airstrike in Afghanistan's northern province of Sari Pul on Wednesday, reports said. 

The airstrike operations by the Afghan forces took place on Tuesday night and targeted Taliban hideouts at Shah Toot locality, Sayyad district after Afghan National Army (ANA) Air Force struck a militants' position where three militants were killed and one wounded. 

The Afghan forces also conducted operations in Nad-e-Ali district where three more Taliban militants were killed.

On Wednesday, one militant named Mohammad Akram was killed and two militants were wounded, after an improvised explosive device (IED) they were carrying to plant along a main road, detonated accidentally in Archi district of neighbouring Kunduz province. 

The Afghan forces discovered and confiscated 20 Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) during the same operations, the report said.
