John Prine, Adam Schlesinger & other music legends we have lost due to coronavirus

Yearender 2020: These are some singers who were known for their creativity and have entertained us over the decades but the year 2020 has been brutal as it took away some of the most popular musicians. 

The youngest of all singer who died of COVID-19 is Fred the Godson, 35. He died three weeks after he tested positive with COVID-19. New York rapper made his breakthrough in 2010 with his Armageddon mixtape, which featured guest spots from Cam'ron, Busta Rhymes and others.

Singer John Prine died on April 7 from complications of COVID-19. The 73-year-old was diagnosed positive on March 29. Grammy-winner singer is considered one of the most influential songwriters of his generation. 

Singer and songwriter Alan Merrill died at the age of 69 on March 29. The singer was best known for co-writing 'I Love Rock 'N' Roll'.

Musician died in France from the coronavirus on March 24 at age 86. Manu Dibango was known for his expeiments with African rhythms, and became known around the globe with his 1972 song 'Soul Makossa'.

Eddy Davis, died of complications from coronavirus at age of 79 on April 7. Davis won a Grammy for his work on the soundtrack for the movie 'Midnight in Paris'.

Singer Joe Diffie died on March 29 at age 61, two days after he revealed he was diagnosed of coronavirus. Diffie was known for hits such as 'Bigger Than The Beatles','Third Rock From the Sun' and many more. 

Adam Schlesinger died on April 1 at age 52 of COVID-19. Schlesinger was the member of the band 'Fountains of Wayne' and was also an Emmy and Grammy winner. He was best known for his work on the TV show 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend'.

Ellis Marsalis died on April 1 at age 85 due to COVID-19. American jazz musician is survived by six sons, four of whom are well-known musicians.

Wallace Roney, 59, died from COVID-19 on March 31. He began his music career when he from 12-year-old, and was also featured in 'Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool'.

Lee Konitz died on April 15 from pneumonia related to coronavirus. The 92-year-old jazz saxophonist had over seven-decade career, in which he played with Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Stan Kenton, and many others. 

Matthew Seligman, died April 17 due to complications of the coronavirus. He was best known as the bass player for band 'The Soft Boys'.

The master of the Jazz Guitar, is dead at 94 due to COVID-19. Over the celebrated decades-long career, he performed  at the White House multiple times, including for former presidents of USA, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton.

African-American country singer Charley Pride, died on December 12, at age 86 of complications from COVID-19. He was known for his hits included 'All I Have to Offer You (Is Me)' and 'Kiss an Angel Good Mornin' and many more.
