World Cup: Indian team attends practice session ahead of crucial Pakistan clash

India and Pakistan will square off on June 16 at the Manchester cricket ground

Team India attended a training session ahead of India vs Pakistan Cricket World Cup match. 

For a seventh time, India will play against Pakistan in the World Cup.

Both the teams will square off on June 16 at the Manchester cricket ground. 

In the absence co-opener Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma will play a huge role in team India's batting plans. 

Rohit will have to shoulder the responsibility to fill Dhawan's void. 

The skipper Virat was spotted practising throws and catch and he also spent time in the nets to hone his batting skills. 

It is expected that skipper Kohli will lead from the front. 

Jasprit Bumrah will be central to India's bowling unit. 

Bumrah has been magnificent so far in this tournament. 

Ahead of the Pakistan clash, Bumrah was practising bowling yorkers. 

Conditions and length of the match will dictate the team combination, said Virat Kohli as the fickle Manchester weather is likely to affect the clash. 

While Kohli did not spell out the changes, there is a strong possibility that Dinesh Karthik will be preferred over Vijay Shankar if it's a less than 35 overs game per side. 

Rishabh Pant, who came in as a cover for Shikhar Dhawan, was training with former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. 

Dhoni was teaching hand movement to Pant. 

Since Pakistan batsmen are capable of handling spin and three left-handers are likely to feature in their top-order (Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq and Haris Sohail for Asif Ali), Kuldeep Yadav may make way for Mohammed Shami in overcast conditions. 

However, Kohli is not entirely against the idea of fielding two spinners although Yuzvendra Chahal is a sure-shot entry. Ravindra Jadeja's restrictive bowling can also be a good option.
