The focus remains firmly on the World Cup but India would also be desperate to ensure that a home series does not slip out of their grip. 

India are 0-1 down after an inexplicably poor batting performance led to a three-wicket loss in first T20I clash.  

India skipper Virat Kohli has already said that his squad composition for the World Cup in May-July is "more or less sorted" but has not ruled out rewarding standout performances over the course of two T20s and five ODIs.

India rested opener Shikhar Dhawan to give game time to Rahul, who grabbed the opportunity with both hands by smashing 50 off 36 balls in his comeback game. 

Kohli and former skipper MS Dhoni are on a verge to achieve a milestone in their career.

Kohli and Dhoni have hit 48 and 49 sixes respectively in the T20I format. Both the batsmen might reach the feat to hit 50 sixes in T20I. 

Previously, only Rohit Sharma (102), Yuvraj Singh (74) and Suresh Raina (58) have hit 50 and more T20I sixes for India thus far.  

Overall, Windies batsman Chris Gayle sits atop with 103 international sixes. 

Indian batsman Rohit Sharma is also close to achieving a milestone. He needs one more six to become the first Indian to hit 350 International sixes. 

Only four players across the globe have hit more sixes than these two players and those are Chris Gayle, Shahid Afridi, Brendon McCullum and Sanath Jayasuriya. 

Dhoni also needs one more six to achieve the same feat as he is also on 349 figure. 

Rohit Sharma will feature in his career's 300th match in the Twenty20 format. 

Recently, MS Dhoni became the first Indian to achieve the same feat when he took to the field in the third T20 International against New Zealand at Seddon Park in Hamilton. 

Overall, Dhoni became the 13th cricketer to achieve the feat joining Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Brendon McCullum, Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Ryan ten Doeschate, Dwayne Smith, Albie Morkel, Ravi Bopara, Sunil Narine, Sohail Tanvir and Luke Wright. 

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah had finished with figures of three for 16 at an economy rate of 4 in the first match of the series. 

He dismissed Aaron Finch, Peter Handscomb and Nathan Coulter-Nile. 

After taking those three wickets, he became the second Indian cricketer to take 50-plus wickets in T20I cricket after Ravichandran Ashwin. 

Now, he needs to bag two more dismissals to become the leading wicket-taker in T20I cricket for India. 

Although, overall, it would leave him at the 21st position on the list topped by veteran Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi (98 wickets).

Yuzvendra Chahal needs 4 more wickets becoming the third Indian to take 50 wickets in T20I cricket. 

Ravichandran Ashwin (52) and Jasprit Bumrah have achieved this feat.
