Throwback to ICC Cricket World Cup 2011: India becomes first team to win final on home soil
It was India's second World Cup win after the 1983 tournament as it became the first country to win the Cricket World Cup final on home soil.
Hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh
The 10th edition of the World Cup was played in India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
India and Sri Lanka had previously hosted the World Cup but Bangladesh was hosting the tournament for the first time.
Fourteen teams took part, including 10 full members and four associate members of the ICC.

India lift their second World Cup
India won the tournament led by MS Dhoni, defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, becoming the first country to win the Cricket World Cup final on home soil.
It was India's second World Cup win after the 1983 tournament.
Sri Lanka batted first and put up 274 for the loss of 6 wickets.
Mahela Jayawardene hit a crucial 103 runs.
India chased down the target in 48.2 overs and won the match with 6 wickets to spare.
Gautam Gambhir top scored from India's side, hitting 97 runs before he was bowled by Parera.
MS Dhoni finished off the game in style, hitting a six adding to his unbeaten 91 runs.

Yuvraj Singh looking to come out of retirement, shoots e-mail to BCCI
India's Yuvraj Singh was declared the man of the tournament.
He scored 362 runs and took15 wickets in the World Cup, proving his ability as a top class all-rounder.
It was later revealed that Yuvraj Singh had played the tournament with a golf ball-sized cancerous tumour around his lungs.

Leading run scorer, Tillakaratne Dilshan
Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne Dilshan was the leading run-getter of the 2011 World Cup.
Dilshan scored 500 runs in 9 matches with an average of 62.50 in the tournament.

Highest wicket taker, Shahid Afridi
Pakistan's leg-spinner Shahid Afridi was the best bowler of the tournament.
He took 21 wickets in the 8 matches with an economy rate of 3.62 runs per over.
His best bowling performance was 5/16 against Kenya.

Major upset, Ireland beat England
England scored 327-8 batting first and reduced Ireland to 111-5 in the 25th over.
Kevin O'Brien walked in after Ireland lost five wickets and smashed113 off 63 balls before being run-out.
Ireland won the match with five balls to spare and three wickets in hand.
