'Thor: Love and Thunder': Who is new, who is coming back and more

One of the most anticipated movies, 'Thor: Love and Thunder' has an exciting line up of actors. Taika Waititi directorial is bringing back some old characters like Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman and introducing new characters like Christian Bale who will be portraying the villain Gore for the first time. 

Chris Hemsworth is returning once again as the Asgardian hero. The actor, who has portrayed the Marvel superhero, Thor, since the beginning of the MCU, shared several images of himself spending time with his family before taking on superhero duties once more for 'Thor: Love and Thunder'. 
 

Upcoming Marvel film will have none other than the award-winning actor Christian Bale in the main antagonist's role.The actor has been roped in for Marvel film as a villain called Gore -the God Butcher. 
 

Tessa Thompson is all set to reprise her role in 'Thor: Love and Thunder' as Valkyrie, the hard-drinking warrior from Thor’s home planet. And as hinted, she will be the new ruler of Asgard.

In the sequel, she will be involved in an LGBTQ storyline. When asked what her character will be up to in the film, Thompson told the audience: “I think first of all asking, as the new king, she needs to find her queen. That’ll be her first order of business. She has some ideas. Keep you posted.”
 

Natalie Portman will be back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the new Goddess of Thunder!. Natalie is reprising Dr Jane Foster character and will take up the mantle of Thor. As per the reports, the movie would be based on an existing 2014 comic book storyline where Thor loses his abilities and Jane Foster wields his powers and magical hammer Mjolnir.
 

Matt Damon has joined the cast of 'Thor: Love and Thunder' as well. He had a brief cameo in 'Thor: Ragnarok'. In the 2017 movie, he had a cameo appearance as an Asgardian theater actor, and was seen playing Loki. Not much is not known about his character in the new Thor film. 

Chris Pratt, star of 'Guardians Of The Galaxy', will reprise his role as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord in the Thor series. Last time fans saw Pratt as a charming hero in 2019’s 'Avengers: Endgame'. 
 

Actor Karen Gillan is set to reprise her role, Nebula from 'Guardians of the Galaxy' in the upcoming movie. The Scottish actor played an intergalactic warrior in two 'Guardians of the Galaxy' movies as well as in 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame'. 
 

Jaimie Alexander is set to make her Marvel Cinematic Universe return as Asgardian warrior Sif in the Taika Waititi-directed sequel.
