Then and Now: Your Favourite Stars From 'Friends' After 27 Years Of The Hit Show

For those who grew up in the 90s, TV series 'Friends' was an integral part of their childhood and adolescent years. Over the years, the show's characters- the six friends- and the dialogues have found a way to become a part of our growing up years. 

Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston)

Rachel Green's on/off relationship with Ross had viewers hooked throughout the ten-year series.

Jennifer started her career in 1988, she had a minor role in 'Mac and Me'. She got her first regular television role in 'Molloy' and after four unsuccessful shows she was finally cast as Rachel Green in 'Friends'. Jennifer Aniston last appeared on Netflix  'Murder Mystery', a comedy that reunites her with Adam Sandler, which premiered on June 14, 2019. Aniston will make her return to television starring alongside Reese Witherspoon in 'The Morning Show'. This will be Aniston's first main television role since the conclusion of 'Friends' in 2004.

Monica Geller (Courteney Cox)

Monica Geller, Ross' little sister, will be remembered for her obsessive-compulsive personality and being the mother of the group.

In 1984, she landed herself a small part in one episode of 'As the World Turns' (1956) as a young debutante named Bunny. Her first big break was in the Bruce Springsteen video 'Dancing in The Dark' and then eventually her role as Monica Geller on the hugely successful sitcom 'Friends' (1994). It was this part that turned her into an international superstar and led to an American Comedy Award nomination. Her three famous shows are 'Friends', 'Scream' film series, 'Cougar Town' that wrapped up in 2015. She was last seen on 'Shameless' season  9.

Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc)

Joey Tribbiani was the show's beloved ladies' man who melted hearts with his "How You Doin?" line.

Matt LeBlanc first appeared in a 1987 Heinz Tomato Ketchup commercial. In 1988, he starred in the television drama TV '101'. Matt went on to star in television series 'Episodes' from 2011 to 2017 for which he won a Golden Globe Award and received four additional Emmy Award nominations. He co-hosted 'Top Gear' from 2016 to 2019. As of 2019, he plays Adam Burns in 'Man with a Plan'.

Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow)

Phoebe Buffay will forever be remembered for her musical 'talents' - in particular her performance of "Smelly Cat" - and her love of animals

After making guest appearances in several television shows, including 'Cheers', she came to prominence with her recurring role of Ursula Buffay in 'Mad About You' (1993-1999), receiving a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. Kudrow gained worldwide recognition for portraying Phoebe Buffay in 'Friends', Her last big-screen appearance was in 'Booksmart' in 2019.

Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry)

It is not just his character Chandler. Perry is also very witty and has contributed several times to the jokes in Friends. In fact, he was the only cast member in the show who regularly sat with the writers.

Ross Geller (David Schwimmer)

There's no denying that Ross Geller was the smartest member of the group.

He started his career from the movie 'A Deadly Silence' in 1989 and appeared in a number of television roles, including  'L.A. Law', 'The Wonder Years', 'NYPD Blue', and 'Monty', in the early 1990s. Schwimmer gained worldwide recognition for playing Ross Geller in the 'Friends', for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1995. He was last seen on 'Will & Grace' TV Show
