Twin brothers, Swiss concept artists Frank and Patrik Riklin have come up with a 'zero star hotel' art installation in Saillon, Switzerland. The hotel room is essentially a double bed on a platform, with two bedside tables and lamps. There are no walls, ceilings or doors to provide any privacy or shelter, but there is an opportunity to ponder on the dangers humanity is facing.

Let's take a look:

Hotel

The Riklin brothers have set up their null stern (German for zero star) suite, on a roadside next to a petrol station in the village of Saillon, in the southern Swiss canton of Valais.

The twin brothers claim that the intention of this project is to make guests think about the problems in the world and inspire them to act differently.

The swiss artists have created similar beds in idyllic spots, but this is their first 'anti-idyllic' site.

According to Frank Riklin sleep is not the primary point and is rather a statement or way of reflecting about the need for urgent changes in society.

Even when 'half asleep', guests will be welcomed to think and discuss topics like climate change, war, and humanity's endless quest for perfection and the damage it causes the planet.

According to Frank Riklin it is not the time to sleep and if people continue in the same path as the present, there might be more anti-idyllic places than idyllic.

The project, which has been developed in collaboration hotelier Daniel Charbonnier, also features three further null stern suites in a more idyllic vineyard and on a picturesque hillside.

The suites, which come with butler service offering drinks and breakfast and will be available form July 1 to Sept. 18. The price for an imperfect night's sleep will be 325 Swiss francs ($337).
