Big OTT/theatre releases in May 2022: 'Stranger Things' to 'Top Gun: Maverick'

It’s time for another monthly look at what's new is coming and this month there's a bag full of theatre and OTT releases, that we were waiting for a long time now.

This month, we have 'Stranger Things' new season, Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun: Marverick' and Kartik Aryan's 'Bhool Bhulaiya' and many more, take a look at the big OTT and theatres releases in May 2022. 

'Stranger Things' Season 4

After much wait, the first part of 'Stranger Things' season 4 will release this month and this time Eleven & her team are in a war against monsters. 

Talking about the trailer, it looks like the season will be full of horror and suspense, and the life in Hawkings has changed - pretty much and all children are grown-ups now. Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Max are in high school in Hawkins,

The show will release on May 27.

Anil Kapoor & Harsh Vardhan Kapoor first look from movie 'Thar'

Anil Kapoor & Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor starrer movie is coming out this year 'Thar'. The revenge drama will be full of action sequences. In the movie, Harsh Vardhan is playing the role of Siddharth, an antique dealer in a remote village in Rajasthan. 

The film is set to premiere on Netflix on May 6.

Jhund (June 18)

Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Jhund' is releasing this month on OTT. The movie is based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of Slum Soccer. The movie is helmed by Marathi filmmaker Nagraj Manjule.

The movie will stream on Zee 5 from May 6

'Modern Love Mumbai' poster

The Mumbai version of the much-acclaimed US series 'Modern Love' will release this month. 

The trailer shows us various love stories set in Mumbai, India and explores different topics like homosexuality and acceptance, a modern-day millennial love among others.

All episodes will premiere on Prime Video on May 13.

The wait is finally over, nearly thirty years later Tom Cruise is returning as Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, the movie is directed by Joseph Kosinski and also stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis with Ed Harris and Val Kilmer.

The film is set to release in theatres on May 22, 2022.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

Bollywood is going through a tough time when it comes to box office numbers and now, we can say Kartik Aryan has somewhere saved Bollywood with his recently released movie 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' after back-to-back Bollywood flops. 

The film has earned over ₹252.30 crores at the box office and continues to do good business across cinemas. 

It has also become the second-highest Hindi top-grossing movie in India.
