Sporting events that fell victim to coronavirus!

Sporting events in China have been adversely affected due to the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan. 

Let's take a look at the events that were either cancelled or postponed due to the spread of the novel virus. 

Euro 2020 is just a couple of months away from the beginning. Coronavirus is spreading like wildfire and Italy is one of the worst affected countries. 

As of now, UEFA is still going ahead with its Champions League and Europa League fixture but if the situation continues to remain tense it could lead to delaying or even cancellation of the tournament. 

Thailand and Qatar Moto GP have been stalled due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus! 

The postponement of the March 20-22 event in Buriram, in northeastern Thailand, comes after Qatar axed its March 8 season-opener event due to travel restrictions imposed to curb the virus. 

Five matches in Italy's Serie A, including the heavyweight duel between champions Juventus and Inter Milan, were postponed on Saturday due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Sunday's clash pitting Juventus and third-placed Inter in Turin was among those fixtures to be called off and rearranged for May 13. 

It had originally been scheduled to be played behind closed doors. 

The Grand Prix was scheduled to take place on April 19 in the Shanghai International Circuit which is approximately 800 kilometres away from Wuhan (the epicentre of the outbreak). However, due to the outbreak, the governing body has decided to postpone the event. The new date is yet to be declared. 

The World Athletics Indoor Championships, which had been scheduled for Nanjing from March 13-15, were postponed until next year. World Athletics is working with organisers to settle on a date to host the biennial event in 2021.

The Asian Athletics Association cancelled its February 12-13 indoor championships in Hangzhou.

Asian Champions League matches involving Chinese clubs Guangzhou Evergrande, Shanghai Shenhua and Shanghai SIPG have been postponed.

Guangzhou and the Shanghai clubs will join the competition in April, with their group matches due to be played in May.

Shanghai Shenhua and Shanghai SIPG were due to play away at Perth Glory and Sydney FC but Australian officials sought to reschedule matches after their government imposed a travel ban on foreign nationals arriving from China.

LeBron James joked that leaving his home to enter the bubble was like "heading to do a bid" -- a slang term for starting a prison sentence.

But since arriving in Orlando, most players have adjusted to life in their tightly controlled environment. Many have installed creature comforts from home including giant televisions and video game consoles.

A Twitter account -- @nbabubblelife -- which documents the daily activities of NBA players based in Orlando has quickly amassed a large following, depicting players doing everything from getting haircuts to playing golf or fishing.

Despite being inside the bubble, players are still required to follow conventions such as social distancing and wearing face coverings. Players are also barred from entering each other's rooms.

The International Tennis Federation moved the Fed Cup Asia/Oceania Group I event featuring China, Taiwan, Indonesia, South Korea and Uzbekistan out of Dongguan to Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana) in Kazakhstan.

But the February 4-8 event was later postponed after Kazakhstan declined to serve as substitute hosts.

The first winter X-Games scheduled to be held in China, in the Huebei province from February 21-23, was postponed.

The elite women's LPGA golf tour cancelled the March 5-8 Blue Bay tournament to be held on Hainan.

The PGA Tour Series-China moved its February 25-28 global qualifying tournament to Lagoi, Indonesia, from Haikou.

The all-electric Formula E motor racing series abandoned plans for a race in Sanya on March 21.

The move puts Formula One in the spotlight, with Shanghai due to host the Chinese Grand Prix on April 19.

The International Olympic Committee announced Jordan as hosts of the boxing qualifiers for Asia and Oceania after an event in Wuhan was cancelled. It will now take place in Amman from March 3 to 11.

Skiing's governing body cancelled the February 15-16 World Cup in Yanqing.

The Tokyo Olympics, which were delayed by a year due to COVID-19 pandemic, will open on July 23, 2021, organisers of the Games said on Monday. The decision to conduct the Tokyo Olympics in the same slot scheduled for this year’s Games comes less than a week after the organisers were forced to postpone the quadrennial event because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
