Republic Day 2022: Mesmerising tableaus at the parade

The majestic Rajpath hosted 21 tableaus, 12 representing various states and Union Territories, and nine representing ministries during this year's Republic Day Parade.

The Indian government will in a few days announce awards for the best floats.

Let's take a look at some of these impressive floats and find out what they represent:

Arunachal Pradesh's tableau was inspired by the theme 'Anglo Abor Adiverse', which highlights the struggles of indigenous people of the state, particularly of Siang region, who have bravely resisted the expansion of British rule in India through their resistance to the British imperial policy.

Karnataka tableau is based on the theme of ‘Karnataka: The Cradle of Traditional Handicrafts’ on R-Day. The Karnataka tableau showcases the traditional artistic diversity of the state, including handicrafts dating back hundreds of years. It is the only tableau chosen from South India.
