Remembering DMX: Music and acting worlds react to death of the legendary rapper

American rapper and actor Earl Simmons, known by the stage name DMX or Dark Man X, died on Friday at age 50.  Upon learning the tragic news, the stars from across the globe, including Priyanka Chopra, Dwayne Johnson, have paid their tributes to the legendary rapper. 

 

Halle Berry

Halle Berry paid tribute to the rapper and wrote, ''His gift meant so much to so many. Sending love to his family."

Dwayne Johnson was one of the stars spotted at the event.

By mourning the loss of DMX’s demise, Dwayne Johnson shared the picture of the rapper and wrote, ''Man I hated seeing the confirmation today on DMX. All week I was hoping he’d pull thru. Sending love, light, strength and mana to his family. What a voice, cadence and power. Rest easy king.
You “gave it to ‘em”

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra, also took to Twitter, to share her condolences to the legendary rapper’s family. ''He was one of my favourite artists growing up, and then to have had the opportunity to work with him was such a dream come true. Such a big loss for the music industry. #RIP DMX. Sending my thoughts and love to his family'', he wrote.

Viola Davis

Actress Viola Davis also mourned the death of the legend, "RIP DMX. I pray for the comfort of your children and loved ones." she wrote.

Snoop Dogg was one of the first ones to pay tribute to the rapper, by sharing a collage of pictures of several iconic rappers including DMX and Jay-Z, and wrote: "Thank you, hip-hop."
