Project Aakar: Dampatti No 1 (Parivaar Niyojan), an initiative by Mobius Foundation

For every married couple, raising a family is of utmost importance. The couple should be aware of their reproductive health rights and should have access to quality family planning services and methods. 

This is where Dampatti No 1 (Parivaar Niyojan) comes in -- it aims to provide eligible couples with information and guidance on family planning methods and services available.

Project Aakar

Project Aakar was launched by Mr Pradip Burman, the chairman of Mobius Foundation on February 24, 2018, as a part of community sustainability solutions programme. It is being implemented in partnership with a local NGO -- Kartavya Shila Mahila Aevam Bal Vikas Sanstha.

Project Aakar

Project Aakar was designed to complement and support the government of India’s commitment to stabilising the population.

Piloting in Uttar Pradesh, the project aims to educate people on the importance of reproductive health, family planning and increasing the uptake of contraceptives.

Project Aakar is in synergy with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on planning and state policies, and has therefore been given special attention. 

Not only this, the project also supports Parivar Vikas Mission of the Government of India.

Project Aakar is being implemented in Barabanki and Bahraich, the communication and IEC material development is handled by Impact Communications.

Local NGO Kartavya Shila Mahila Aevam Bal Vikas Sansthan is helping to implement this programme on ground.

Through Project Aakar, Mobius Foundation engages with more than 200 million people across the state, and strengthens the government’s efforts to encourage couples and community to adopt healthy family planning measures.

The foundation's purpose is to achieve a sustainable future where everyone can enjoy quality life without compromising on basic needs through population stabilisation.
