US Independence Day 2022: 'Pearl Harbour' to 'Top-Gun' — Movies to binge-watch on 4th July weekend

Fourth of July, the American Independence Day is here. Marking the day, today, we bring you a capsule of patriotic movies that you can binge-watch while staying at home.

Pearl Harbor

As the name suggests, the movie presents a fictionalised version of the Pearl Harbor attack. It follows American friends Rafe McCawley (Ben Affleck) and Danny Walker (Josh Hartnett) as they enter World War II as pilots.

Captain America: The First Avenger

'Captain America: The First Avenger' Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) turns into the ultimate superhero after he's rejected from the military because of his small stature. Joining forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Captain America leads the fight against the Nazi-backed HYDRA organization.

Top Gun

'Top Gun' was apparently inspired by a magazine article on Navy pilots. The film followed the life of a fighter pilot and launched Tom Cruise's career as a global action star. From iconic moments featuring Cruise on a motorcycle and flying a jet, a volleyball game, shirtless men, aerial tricks to its music, there are many reasons to watch the movie once again.

Glory

Edward Zwick directorial 'Glory' is about the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, the Union Army's second African-American regiment in the American Civil War. The movie follows a story of Robert Shaw, a white officer, faces opposition from his fellow officers and ire from enemy soldiers for leading a battalion of black soldiers

Lincoln

Steven Spielberg's historical drama 'Lincoln' was loosely based on Doris Kearns Goodwin's 2005 biography 'Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln', and covers the final four months of Lincoln's life, focusing on his efforts in January 1865 to abolish slavery and involuntary servitude by having the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution passed by the United States House of Representatives.
