There's no denying the fact that Taapsee Pannu has established herself in Bollywood by giving powerful and out-of-the-box performances in films like 'Pink', 'Thappad' and more.

As Pannu turns a year older, take a look at her strongest, boldest and realistic on-screen performances so far.

Thappad

Anubhav Sinha's film was nuanced and subtle with its messaging. After 'Pink' and 'Mulk', Taapsee Pannu gave another strong performance in 'Thappad' as she decides what is right for her even though almost the whole society is against her.

Playing Amrita, a homemaker, she fights a battle that most don't support against her husband who absently slaps her and indignifies her role in his life. Amrita is inspirational in every right.

Pink

While Taapsee Pannu officially debuted in Bollywood with David Dhawan's 'Chashme Baddoor' (2013), but her breakthrough came in 2016, when she portrayed Meenal in a courtroom drama 'Pink' co-starring Amitabh Bachchan. Pannu’s effortless performance as an urban girl was a standout.

‘Pink’ was a massive hit as it told the story of three girls who live together in a neighbourhood and fight a battle with a group of boys after they molest them one night.

Mulk

In 2018, Taapsee Pannu for the first time collaborated with director Anubhav Sinha and Pannu gave her career-best performance as a fierce and fearless lawyer and a Hindu girl who stands with her Muslim father-in-law played by Rishi Kapoor.

The film relates the story of a Muslim family trying to reclaim its lost honour after a family member gets involved in terrorism.

The film delivered a hard-hitting message and reflects a society plagued by intolerance, prejudice and Islamophobia.

Manmarziyaan

One would agree that Taapsee Pannu character Rumi is one of her flawed characters, but still, it was one of the realistic characters that Anurag Kashyap showed on-screen. Rumi, a girl who is selfish, full of flaws and is rebellious and disagrees with limits and restrictions put on women in rural society. In  'Manmarziyaan', Pannu owned every frame in the movie as an unapologetic heroine.

Set in Amritsar, 'Manmarziyaan' follows the story of Rumi, a spirited young woman who finds herself caught up in a complicated love triangle involving her impulsive yet irresponsible boyfriend and her self-possessed fiance.

Game Over

Perhaps, Taapsee Pannu's strength as an actor lies in the fact that she easily slips into all parts seamlessly and always gave her best.

In 2019, Pannu proved her versatility as a performer and gave an excellent performance in the kickass psychological thriller 'Game Over'. Like always, the actor did justice to her character Swapna, a successful video game designer with a dark past.

The movie follows the story of a woman, who has post-traumatic stress disorder and chronic fear of the dark. Her life turns upside down after a serial killer enters her house and creates havoc.
