Several mind blowing photos were showcased in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Here are a few.

Tender play

Training session

Christmann came across this penguin couple in Atka Bay, Antarctica, seemingly with an egg. Upon closer inspection he discovered the egg was a snowball! This is possibly the first time a practice session of transferring eggs between penguin couples ever been witnessed and documented.

Big ears

Maleev was on a summer expedition to the Gobi Desert when he happened upon a long-eared jerboa. Though the nocturnal animal uses the large ears to dispel heat, it is probably tired of hearing everything that goes on in the Gobi desert.
