Miss Universe 2019: Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi wins the pageant in a star-lit event

Zozibini Tunzi took home the 2019 Miss Universe title on Sunday, from a lavish ceremony filled with glitter and gave a heartfelt winning message turning it into an emotional evening.Here's a look at the inside photos from the Miss Universe pageant.  

Beauty from South Africa, 26-year-old pageant winner Zozibini Tunzi, is the first black woman from her country to wear the Miss Universe crown. 

Tunzi earned cheers during her closing speech, where she talked about empowering young women to feel confident.

It was an emotional moment for the newly crowned Miss Universe as talked about being raised by confident women throughout her childhood. She crowned by Miss Philippines and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.

It was a tough battle to win 'Power of Unity'- the terminology given to the coveted crown. In this photo, the two finalists, Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi and Miss Puerto Rico Madison Anderson are seen holding hands during the final announcement of the winner. 

Tunzi beat more than 90 contestants from around the globe in the 68th instalment of Miss Universe, which was held in Atlanta's Tyler Perry Studios.

An emotional reaction of joy, shock, and even tears for Tunzi after being crowned as all the contestants of the pageant stood around the newly crowned Miss Universe to celebrate the thrilling moment.
