Kareena Kapoor at UNICEF event in Delhi

On Mother's Day yesterday, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan was in Delhi to attend a UNICEF event where she highlighted the importance of a child's safety, mother-child relationship, education and the steps to take in nurturing and developing a child in the right atmosphere. As a mother, she revealed how important a role her family, husband Saif Ali Khan and immediate surroundings played in bringing up own child Taimur. Addressing a press conference, she revealed that every child's safety is close to her heart. For those who feel it's only the mother who is responsible for a child, she mentioned that there are many things that a mother can't do but the father can.

Kareena Kapoor Khan delivered her first child, Taimur in the year 2016. At that time she said, "When I was pregnant, access to quality healthcare and good doctors and nurses was a given. But this should not just be a privilege for some. Quality healthcare is something that needs to be assured for every mother and every baby, girl or boy, wherever they live. Every mother and every baby has the right to be supported by a safe pair of hands during pregnancy and the newborn period."(Source: Yogen Shah)

Kareena chose an ethinic wear for the event of UNICEF on the occation of Mother's Day. She was dressed in a beautiful white suit and carried heavy jhumkas along with tied up hair, which gave her a royal look.(Source: Yogen Shah)

Kareena highlighted the need for gender equity and quality for the new born survival. She also said, "We need to look after our girls just as well as we look after our boys. As females ourselves, it is incredibly sad that baby girls do not always get the same care that baby boys do.
