JeM chief Masood Azhar: His plan, origin and motive to target India
Masood Azhar's led Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), a terrorist organisation claimed responsibility for the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama that left over 40 CRPF personnel dead.

Maulana Masood Azhar born in Bahawalpur, Punjab is the founder and leader of Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
India holds Azhar responsible for a string of suicide terror attacks on Indian soil, including the 2001 attack on Parliament, the 2005 attack in Ayodhya, 2016 attack on Pathankot airbase and on the Uri military base in Kashmir in 2016 in which over 15 security personnel were killed.

China will block move to designate Masood Azhar a global terrorist
India had repeatedly bid at the United Nations to list Azhar Masood as a global terrorist.
A veto-wielding permanent member of the UN Security Council, China has repeatedly blocked India's move to designate Azhar a terrorist under the Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council.

Supporters of banned Islamic militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad
Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) is a terrorist organisation from Pakistan. It was declared a "foreign terrorist organisation" by the United Nations in October 2001 and by the US in December 2001.
The terror group had previously many faces - Tehrik-ul-Furqan, Khuddam ul-Islam and Al-Rehmat Trust.
JeM also reportedly maintains close relations with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.

JeM's primary motive is to separate Kashmir from India.
The group had carried many attacks in Jammu and Kashmir till now. On April 20, 2000, JeM carried out their first suicide bombing in Kashmir, which killed five Indian soldiers.
On February 14, 2019, JeM claimed responsibility for the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama that left 40 CRPF jawans dead via a text message sent to Kashmiri news agency GNS.

Pulwama attack
Reports suggested that the vehicle used by the suicide bomber to carry out the Pulwama attack was a Mahindra Scorpio which carried 200 kg explosives.

Adil Ahmad Dar
Police identified the terrorist responsible for the deadly attack as Adil Ahmad from Kakapora in Pulwama.
He reportedly joined the Jaish-e-Mohammed last year.
