IPL 2019: Top 5 players to watch out for in Chennai vs Delhi clash

Delhi will host Chennai at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium later in the evening. This is the second game of both the teams in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Rishabh Pant

India's young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant set Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on fire with his clean hitting. He came to bat after Colin Ingram’s wicket and soon started taking on the Mumbai bowlers.

The left-handed batsman smashed 78 runs off just 27 balls, where includes seven sixes and as many fours. It was Pant’s flamboyant innings which took Delhi Capitals’ total to 213/6 in 20 overs.

Shreyas Iyer

The Delhi captain had a remarkable run last season. He proved his mettle to such a level that he was given the opportunity to lead the side. But in the first game against Mumbai, Iyer failed to make any impact and was sent back to the pavilion for mere 16 runs.

He will be in desperate to return in form and this is the best chance as the game will be held at Delhi's home ground, making him a batsman to watch out for today.

Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh opted out of IPL 2020 before even leaving for the UAE. Harbhajan cited personal reasons behind his decision and has already announced that he will skip the entire tournament, which is set to start from September 19.

Shane Watson

Shane Watson is the reason why Chennai won the third title and the swashbuckling all-rounder had hit a century to bring laurels for Chennai. However, he was dismissed for a duck in the campaign opener. He would be eager to return to his previous year's form.

Ishant Sharma

In Delhi's campaign opener, Ishant Sharma was looking in a good rhythm when Mumbai’s chase began. He picked the most crucial wicket of Rohit Sharma in his second over itself and in his next over, he also dismissed Quinton de Kock to destroy the hopes of Mumbai’s fans.

Ishant ended his dry spell of wickets and took his first wicket since IPL 2016.

Kagiso Rabada

The South African missed the last season as he was ruled out due to injury. But this year he is back and will lead the new ball along with Trent Boult to get early wickets for Delhi. Rabada has the speed, line and his accuracy which together he produces the best balls.

He also feels his side has the best pace attack and they looking to forward their march towards the playoffs. He has played 6 matches in IPL and has picked 6 wickets as well and this year he can add more to his accounts.
