From David Warner's comeback to Andre Russell's explosive performance, here are major takeaways from the Kolkata vs Hyderabad match.

Kolkata-IPL 2019

David Warner's knock went in vain as Kolkata won the Indian Premier League match by six wickets with two balls to spare at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

A pause for a floodlight failure in the 16th over re-charged Kolkata's chase as Russell put together an unbeaten 65-run stand with Shubman Gill, who hit 18 runs including the winning six.

Kolkata sealed the 182-run chase with two balls to spare.

Hyderabad

This was third-highest total against Hyderabad which was successfully chased down in IPL history.

The first was done by Punjab in 2014 when they chased 2016 and the second was Delhi's 186-run chase in 2017.

Hyderabad is a team known for its depth and variation in bowling.

David Warner

David Warner made a stupendous comeback with a scintillating 85, helping his side reach a challenging 181/3.

Putting behind the embarrassing ball-tampering scandal, that kept him out last year, the Aussie smashed three sixes and nine boundaries in his 53-ball knock.

Andre Russell

Andre Russell smashed an explosive 49 off 199 balls to pull off a dramatic six-wicket win over Hyderabad.

Needing 53 runs from last three overs, the powerful Jamaican changed the course of the match with his big-hitting against Siddharth Kaul, creaming off 19 runs from that over.

Russell hammered four sixes and an equal number of boundaries in run sequence that read 6-6-1-4-1-4-6-4-0-6-1.

In bowling, Russell picked two wickets also.

Hyderabad

Hyderabad have traded in Vijay Shankar, Shahbaz Nadeem and Abhishek Sharma for Shikhar Dhawan, but it remains to be seen how they overcome the Indian opener's departure.

After today's match, it is quite evident that Hyderabad lack depth in the batting department.
