Indian Premier League is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining forms of T20 format. Since its inception, many records have been set by players. Here's the list of seven players with the highest strike rates in IPL so far

Jamaican power hitter Andre Russell tops the chart of having the highest strike-rate in the previous held Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons.

Russell, who has been playing for Shah Rukh Khan-owned Kolkata Knight Riders since 2012, is well known to finish the games with some big hitting skills.

Russell has represented in 34 games scoring 574 runs at a strike rate of 173.41, till 2017. Though his record doesn't stand as per his strike rate as he has crossed the fifty mark only three times.

As of now, the West Indies all-rounder has been ruled out of the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018 season courtesy of a hamstring injury.

The injury has also put his fitness for the upcoming IPL, which begins from April 7, in doubt. The Kolkata Knight Riders had retained him for 8.5 crore.

Christopher Henry Morris, commonly named as Chris Morris, holds an IPL record of having the second highest strike rate of all times.

The South African international cricketer has a strike rate of 164.39.
he has played in 48 matches and has managed to score 439 runs with 82 being his highest.

Having a ‘never say die’ attitude, Morris has played a key role in Delhi Daredevil’s campaigns over the last couple of seasons. He began his IPL journey with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and had also been a part of the Rajasthan Royals before being inducted into the DD squad.

The spirited cricketer has displayed the ability to take on the bowlers in crunch situations lower down the order besides performing his duties with the ball.

Glenn Maxwell hardly played matches in the first six seasons but his all the saved resource for Kings XI Punjab were worthy enough after he set the seventh season (2014) on fire with his aggressive batting.

He found as many as possible ways to score and played some initiative shots like reverse sweeps.

In total, he has scored 1228 runs in 57 matches at a brilliant striking rate of 164.39. Despite being a destructive player, he has only six half-centuries to his name and zero century.

Krunal Pandya, the all-rounder from Baroda, who is the elder brother of batsman-bowler Hardik Pandya, is considered a limited overs specialist.

In 25 matches, Krunal has scored 480 runs at a strike rate of 158.41 with 86 being his highest score. However, he has managed to cross the 50-run mark only once.

Krunal, who was picked up by Mumbai Indians for 2 crore for the 2016 season of the IPL, was purchased for 8.8 crore for the upcoming season.

Chris Lynn is another one of the most accomplished batsmen in the IPL seasons.

His ability to take on even the best of bowlers is a big plus while he also has the knack of adapting to situations and to different formats. He decimated bowling attacks in the 2017 IPL season and became one of the most feared opening batsmen in the tournament.

After a prolific IPL season in 2017, Lynn was one of the most sought-after players by a lot of franchises. But, it was KKR which went all the way and spent a mammoth 9.6 crores using the Right To Match card to draft him back into the side.

With an attacking approach at the top and a reputation of hitting the ball hard, Lynn has a strike rate of 158.02. He has played 12 matches and scored 384 runs with 93 being his highest total.

The hard-hitting former India batsman Sehwag has been one of the big-hitting players in the Indian Premier League.

He started his IPL career as the icon player of the Delhi Daredevils in the inaugural edition of the tournament.

In 104 matches, he has given several explosive starts at the top of the order and has scored 2728 runs at a strike rate of 155.44 with a highest score of 122.

The run-machine was bought by the Kings XI Punjab in the 2014 player auction and since then has been part of their set-up.

With an individual score of 175 not out off 66 balls and a century reached in 30 balls, Gayle has set records for the fastest century reached in any format of cricket.

It is the highest individual score in a T20 match, and the most sixes scored in a single innings in the IPL.

West Indies most-daring batsman return to IPL in 2011 changed his stars. Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gayle has kept breaking records in this format since then with his insane batting. Gayle scored 3626 runs in 101 matches he played at a striking rate of 151.20.

Gayle, who has 5 centuries and 21 half-centuries to his name, was bought by Kings XI Punjab in the recently held IPL auctions at a base price of 2 crore.
