India's most powerful businesswomen in 2020

Indian businesswomen are demonstrating their mettle and displaying excellent leadership skills during 2020, a year defined by a global pandemic that is challenging every aspect of life. Forbes has issued a list of the most powerful Indian businesswoman in Asia Pacific.

Let's take a look at it:

Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the chairperson of HCL Technologies and the first woman to lead a listed IT company in India. 

She is the only child of HCL's founder, Shiv Nadar.

In 2019, she backed the biggest acquisition by value in the company’s 29-year history. 

She is ranked 54th on the Forbes World's 100 Most Powerful Women list.

 

 

Divya Gokulnath, 34, along with her husband Byju Raveendran, co-founded edtech company Byju's which offers online courses for K-12 students and is valued at $10 billion.

Ameera Shah is the managing director of Metropolis Healthcare. The 41-year-old took over her father’s pathology lab in 2000. 

Shah has grown Metropolis into one of India’s biggest listed diagnostics services operators, with 125 clinical labs across 210 cities nationwide.

Vinati Saraf Mutreja is the CEO and managing director who is worth nearly $1 billion. Mutreja joined her father’s specialty chemicals company Vinati in 2006 as an executive director. Under her guidance, her company has witnessed a 16-fold increase in sales, and a 500-fold rise in market cap.
