IND vs AUS: Cheteshwar Pujara shines as Kohli & team wins 1st Test match

Pujara scored a total of 194 runs, including first and second inning, to become the highest individual scorer for India in the first Test.

India managed to reach the score of 250 runs in their first innings, all thanks to Cheteshwar Pujara.

The right-handed batsman, who was announced 'Man of the Match', scored 123 runs. He also scored crucial 71 runs in his second inning.

India registered a historic win against Australia on the fifth and final day of the first Test match at Adelaide Oval on Monday.  

The Virat Kohli-led side became the first Indian team to win the opening match of a Test series on Australian soil.

Pujara found a perfect ally in teammate Ajinkya Rahane, who shed his poor form and went on to slam a brilliant half-century.

He contributed crucial 70 runs supported by seven boundaries in his 170-ball inning.

Chasing a target of 323 runs, set by India in their second innings, Australia succumbed to the Indian bowling attack for 291 runs.

India now lead the series 1-0 and will next face the hosts in the second Test, starting Dec 14, at Perth Stadium.
