In pictures: Temple remains and idol residues found in Ayodhya

In massive findings in Ayodhya, carvings on sandstone and a Shivling have been found during the land levelling work at Ram Janmabhoomi.

Seven pillars of black touchstone, six pillars of red sandstone have been discovered from the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya during the leveling of ground.

The temple-pillars were embedded on the walls of Babri Masjid and that these pillars were made of a Black Basalt.

 

Remains of idols of gods and goddess have been recovered from the excavation site.

According to KK Mohammad, former Regional Director of the Archaeological Survey of India, in 2018 said that while carrying out an extensive survey at Ayodhya the ASI team found ''existed brick foundations, which supported the pillars of a pre-existed temple.''

The recovery of pillars and other items are crucial and attest facts that religious dwellings had once stood there and were demolished by the invaders for the construction of a mosque

Debris is being removed and land being levelled at Ram Janmabhoomi since the past 10 days.

In March this year, 'Ram Lalla' idol was shifted to a temporary structure near Manas Bhawan in Ram Janmabhoomi premises, till completion of the construction of Ram Temple.
