Jadhav's mother and wife reached Islamabad on Monday to meet him. They were accompanied by India's deputy high commissioner JP Singh and a woman Pakistani official.

Pakistan had made tight security arrangements for the meeting. Pakistan Rangers, Anti-Terrorism squads and sharp shooters were deployed in the buildings of the area where the meeting was held.

Pakistan's foreign office tweeted the pictures from the meeting where Mr Jadhav can be seen communicating with his wife Chetankul and mother Avanti over intercom, separated by a glass screen.
