Hollywood stars who witnessed police brutality during #BlackLivesMatter protests

As protests across USA continue following the death of a man named George Floyd, some Hollywood celebrities like Cole Sprouse, Halsey, Ariana Grande and others voiced their concerns against the injustice. Some even participated in protests and got themselves injured. 

Singer Halsey who joined the protest last week in demanding justice for George Floyd was hurt by rubber pellets amid protests in Los Angeles. The singer took to her social media account and wrote, ''We were peaceful. Hands up, not moving, not breaching the line. They opened fire of rubber bullets and tear gas multiple times on US citizens who were not provoking them."

Jaime King revealed that she was arrested while she was protesting outside the Los Angeles mayor’s home: "Currently arrested for a peaceful protest. Writing in handcuffs in the back of the bus. 'Everyone was peaceful'. Jaime and the rest of my sisters on this bus. 77th precinct,'' she wrote.
 

Actor Cole Sprouse also took part in one such protest in Santa Monica, California. The actor revealed that he was arrested and zip-tied while protesting peacefully.
 

Actor Kendrick Sampson said he was shot seven times with rubber bullets by police in Los Angeles on Saturday during a protest over the death of George Floyd.''He pointed the gun directly on me. I actually got hit 7 times with rubber bullets and many with batons. My boy has stitches."

John Cusack was attacked by the police while he was documenting the protest. The actor posted a video on his Twitter account and wrote, ''Cops didn’t like me filming the burning car so they came at me with batons. Hitting my bike''. 

Joining protest on Saturday actor Michael B. Jordan called upon Hollywood studios to re think their hiring practices and welcome more Black artists. 

Rapper Kanye West joined the Chicago Public School students  for the rights of black people. As the rapper has also donated a fund to cover the cost of university for George Floyd's six-year-old daughter Gianna. 

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have shown their support for the Black Lives Matter movement by joining a protest at Los Angeles. As the couple shared photos on social media, In the picture Sophie is seen holding a sign which said, "white silence is violence."
