In an earlier announcement, he revealed that he will make the news formal before 2021 assembly elections. There was also news that Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth might join hands in the political space as the former backed the latter's proposal to come together when the need arises for their state and people of Tamil Nadu.

Huge Fan Base

Rajnikanth enjoys a huge fan base and this is not news for anyone but what happened because of that this year will give you an understanding of the crazy following. Netizens trended #boycottcomali after the film's trailer released as they thought that it mocked the political entry of the superstar.

'Comali' trailer featured a scene where actor Jayam Ravi took a supposed dig at Rajinikanth’s political announcement video, which later became the point of contention on social media. The director had to cut out the controversial scene from the movie eventually.
