That much-awaited moment finally occurred when Jon Snow met Daenerys Targaryen in the latest episode of Season 7. The question everybody is asking now is, will they end up together? (Spoiler alert: Do not read if you have not seen Season 6.)

Couple goals

Winter is here and the 'White Wolf' in the North wishes to protect his tribe by forging an aliance with Daenerys Targaryen.
But their meeting does not go as planned.

Tit for tat

Jon did not bend a knee before Dany and refused to accept her as the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. Similarly, Dany denied Jon's reign over the North.

'I am the last Targaryen'

Clearly Dany sees herself as the rightful queen, the ultimate 'Breaker of Chains'. Remember the people she freed from slavery? Remember she freed herself?

But he is the King in the North

But Jon too has served chivalrously in the Night's Watch, and won the 'Battle of Bastards' to claim the North. The northerners have hailed him as their king. He is no less honourable than Dany.

Sons and lovers

It was made clear in Season 6 that Jon is not the bastard son of Ned Stark. He is the offspring of Ned's sister Lyanna and Dany's late brother Rhaegar Targaryen.

Dany is his paternal aunt.

Together in Electral love

Incestuous relationships are not new in the Seven Kingdoms. There was of course Jaime and Cersei, and Dany's parents Aerys and Rhaella were siblings.

An arranged marriage?

Jon Snow needs Daenerys to protect the North from the White Walkers. She needs him to claim the Iron Throne. And how better to forge an alliance than through marriage?
