In the third US-India bilateral meeting between India and the US this year on the sidelines of UNGA, US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister set a trade target of $60 Billion.

Describing Modi as the ''Elvis of India'', referring to famous American singer and actor, the US President praised Modi for giving a ''loud and clear'' message to Pakistan during the ''Howdy, Modi!'' event.

Trump hinted at potential trade deal during the bilateral. He called PM Modi, 'Father of India'

The meeting comes within 48 hours of the two sharing the stage in Houston at one of the largest Indian-American diaspora events called "Howdy Modi".

Modi later thanked Trump for joining him at the event and said that ''He (Trump) is my friend but he is also a good friend of India".

PM Modi also added that India is not shying away from talks with Pakistan but "we expect certain concrete steps to be taken by the neighbouring country first".

India raised the challenges it has been facing with regards to terror, especially in Jammu and Kashmir, since the last 30 years.

"There was a long discussion on terrorism," Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said. "The Prime Minister underscored to Trump that 42,000 lives have been lost to terror attacks in the last 30 years and that the international community must join the fight against terror," Gokhale said.

PM Modi also told Trump that radicalisation is fading away from India, a fact appreciated by the US President.

Donald Trump on Tuesday termed Narendra Modi as the "Father of India". The two leaders, who met at the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, heaped praises on each other during the press briefing.
