From Kohli to de Villiers: Royal Challengers Bangalore sweat it out ahead of IPL 2020

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have started preparing for much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 after completing their quarantine period in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn, Devdutt Paddikal, Washington Sundar among others were in action in the nets as the Kohli-led side start their journey to end their trophy drought in the lucrative tournament.

Team India and RCB skipper Virat Kohli hit the nets for the first time after getting out of lockdown. RCB team director Mike Hesson was seen interacting with both Kohli and Steyn.

"Been 5 months since the last time I stepped onto the field. Felt like 6 days when I got into the nets. Great first session with the boys," Kohli tweeted.

Virat Kohli

The Royal Challengers Bangalore captain resumed training after a five-month coronavirus-forced hiatus. "(It went) much better than expected, to be honest. I was pretty scared. I hadn't picked up a bat for five months, but yeah it came out better than I thought, to be honest," Kohli was quoted as saying by the franchise's website.

Devdutt Padikkal

Highly rated batsman Devdutt Padikkal was also seen in action along with spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and Bengal youngster Shahbaz Ahmed. Padikkal was in sensational form in domestic circuit and will be looking to make it big in IPL 2020.

Dale Steyn is back! 

Dale Steyn, after experiencing an injury-plagued 2019 would be hoping to fire all-cylinders when he takes the field for RCB. The veteran South African speedster was seen having discussions with Mike Hesson before he hit the nets to fire up the speed guns.

Indian pacer Umesh Yadav was back in the nets as he tested the speed gun with his fierce pace. If RCB want to end their title drought then Umesh will be a key personnel for them. And yes, don't forget, he can hit it long as well.

South African all-rounder Chris Morris will be crucial to RCB's quest for IPL trophy. The veteran all-rounder was bought for big bucks and would be looking forward to produce some cracking performance on the field.
