From Hollywood to Bollywood: Celebrities who have tested Covid-19 positive recently

In the midst of the ongoing covid-19 new variant Omicron surge, the number of Covid-19 positive cases has soared high worldwide, reminding all of us that the virus has gone nowhere.  In recent months, more and more celebs have announced that they also have been tested positive.

From Hollywood to Bollywood, here's the list of A-listers who have tested positive recently in the Holiday season. 

 

Seth Meyers

NBC’s 'Late Night With Seth Meyers' is canceled for the rest of the week after the show’s host Seth Meyers tested covid-19 positive. Meyers shared the news of his diagnosis and said he felt fine, thanking the vaccine and a booster shot.

“The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!),” Meyers tweeted. “We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!”

Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon revealed that he tested positive for Covid-19 over holiday break. Taking to Instagram on January 3, the late-night host shared a photo of himself, in which he's a mask and is in an isolation room. “Hey guys, on the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid. I was vaccinated and boostered which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms,” he wrote.

Hugh Jackman

Hollywood star Hugh Jackman has tested positive for coronavirus. This has resulted in Broadway’s revival of 'The Music Man' cancelling performances through at least January 1.  Also, the musical’s co-lead, Sutton Foster, revealed late last week that she had tested positive for the virus. 

“Just wanted you to hear it from me. I tested positive for covid,” Jackman tweeted today. Mild symptoms and as soon as I’m cleared … looking forward to getting back to The Winter Garden! @MusicManBway'', he added.

Whoopi Goldberg

The US actress paid dearly for making a joke about president George W. Bush's name that involved female genitalia at a Democratic fundraiser in 2004. 

Anglo-Dutch food group Unilever promptly dropped Goldberg from its campaign for a food supplement, saying she had offended consume.

John Abraham and his wife Priya test positive for Covid-19

Bollywood actor John Abraham and his wife Priya have tested positive for Covid-19. 

John shared his diagnosis on his Instagram account and informed his fans that he and his wife are under home quarantine and have mild symptoms. Sharing that he came in contact with a Covid positive person three days back. He wrote, "I came in contact 3 days ago with someone who I later learned had Covid. Priya and I have tested positive for Covid. We have been quarantined at home so haven't been in contact with anyone else. We are both vaccinated and experienced mild symptoms. Please stay well and healthy. Masks up."

Lupita Nyong’o has tested positive for COVID.

The actress who will next be seen in ‘The 355’ announced today that she will be unable to attend virtual interviews for the upcoming Universal picture. 

She wrote, “I too have tested positive for COVID-19. I’m fully vaccinated and taking care in isolation, so I trust I will be well. Please do all you can to keep yourself and others protected from serious illness. #StayMaskedAndVaxxed.”

Veteran Bollywood actor Prem Chopra and his wife Uma Chopra were admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati hospital after contracting coronavirus. The senior actor is 86 years old. 

The couple were discharged later.

Ekta Kapoor

Popular film and television producer Ekta Kapoor is the latest Bollywood celebrity to have contracted Covid-19 On January 3, Ekta took to Instagram and informed everyone about her diagnosis. 

She also urged those who came in contact with her to get themselves tested just to be safe.

"Despite taking all the precautions, I have tested Covid positive. I am fine and I request everyone who has come in contact with me to please test themselves," she posted.

Just a day before New Year's eve, 'Will & Grace' actress Debra Messing tested positive for COVID-19. 

Messing took to Instagram to reveal that she had been infected. "I'm COVID POSITIVE. Yup. Happy New Year!

Arjun Kapoor & family

Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor and his sister Anshula have tested positive for Covid-19. The sibling's cousin, producer Rhea Kapoor and her husband, filmmaker Karan Boolani too have contracted the virus. 

Arjun, Anshula, Rhea and Karan are presently in isolation in their respective homes and are following all the precautions under the guidance of doctors.

Charlie Puth

Singer Charlie Puth has tested positive for Covid-19. The 30-year-old singer announced his diagnosis to his fans and shared that he's "not feeling amazing" and to "be safe and careful in holiday season."
