But that didnt seem to deter former PM HD Deve Gowda's family from organising the wedding pon Friday. The former PM's grandson actor-politician Nikhil married Revathi on Friday smack in the middle of the COVID-19 lockdown.

 luxurious wedding

The luxurious wedding took place outside Bengaluru at a farmhouse in Ramanagara approx 50 km away from the city. The families have insisted that it was not a lavish affair and that only immediate family was present for the ceremony.

Close-door weddings

The state government had also said that it will keep a close watch on the ceremony that was videographed.

In Karnataka, closed-door weddings have been allowed as long as the gatherings have less than 75-100 people. This rule was mentioned by the chief minister on March 22
