Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna are one of the most adored Bollywood couples. They have been standing by each other's side for over 21 years now and have seen many ups and downs together. Marking their special day, let's look back at the major revelations made by the couple about their relationship in the past. 

It all started as a fling! Twinkle Khanna once revealed that in the starting it was a fling from her side when they two were shooting a movie together and Twinkle thought that all would get over by the end of the shoot.

"I had come out of a long-term relationship and I wanted to just, for the first time in my life, have a fling. So I decided I was going to have one. There he was, '6-feet of chocolate ice-cream', I'm going to have a fling with him and it's going to last fifteen days," she revealed.

Twinkle Khanna married actor Akshay Kumar after she lost a bet. When Akshay proposed to her for marriage, Twinkle was busy with her film 'Mela' with Aamir Khan. So to turn Akshay's proposal down, she told him that if 'Mela' flopped, she would marry him.

“She was very confident about Mela and said that if the film didn't work, she would get married. Fortunately for me, Mela flopped, and we got married.”

After the release of the film, Twinkle herself called Akshay and said that she would marry him.

After Twinkle said yes, Akshay met her mother Dimple Kapadia and at that time the veteran actress was a little hesitant, as she was thought that Akshay was gay. 

Later, she gave her daughter a warning telling her, ''Your friend, who's doing some piece on gay newspaper, says that Akshay is gay.''

Before settling down with superstar, Twinkle Khanna did a lot of research for a better future. The actress asked about the diseases running in Akshay's family and their medical history. She asked questions like who died of what, the disease and even prepared a family chart to make sure her kids do not inherit any of these problems in future.

Twinkle Khanna, who got married to Akshay Kumar in 2001, revealed that her father & Bollywood actor Rajesh Khanna's astrologer had predicted her wedding to the actor long before she even knew the superstar. 

“I don't believe in (astrology) but my dad used to tell me things. He was not an astrologer, he had an astrologer and that astrologer, before I met my husband, that astrologer told (Rajesh) and he told me, 'You'll marry Akshay Kumar.' I said, 'Who?' The full name. 'You'll marry Akshay Kumar.' I don't even know him,” she recalled in an interview.
