With 15 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze, India's medal tally stood at 69, a step up from Incheon four years ago when they won 65.

Manjit Singh sprinted to victory in the 800 metres.
For jobless Manjit Singh - once a cattle herder - it was gold in the 800 metres as he outpaced race favourite Jinson Johnson to become a national hero.
Singh, who hails from a small village in the northern state of Haryana, trained far away from home for over a year, helped out for money by his father.

Tajinderpal Singh Toor - Men's Shot Put
Tajinderpal Singh Toor won the elusive gold medal in men's shot put event.
The 23-year-old finished first at the podium with a record-shattering throw to open India's medal account in athletics.
India's Toor threw 20.75m in his fifth attempt and set a national record as well. He bettered the six-year-old record of 20.69m in the name of Om Prakash Karhana.

Neeraj Chopra
Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won gold medal.
Chopra looked confident from the start with a throw of 83.46m. But it was in his third attempt that Chopra stole the show with a mammoth 88.06m to win the gold.
His second throw was declined by the officials but that did not deter the Chopra from throwing 83.25m and 86.26m in his fourth and fifth attempt respectively.

Arpinder Singh - Men's Triple Jump
Arpinder Singh won the gold in the men's triple jump. He jumped a total distance of 16.77 metres for his gold.
This was India's first triple jump gold in 48 years at the Asian Games.
Arpinder fouled his first attempt. He jumped 16.58 metres on his second try.

Women's 4 x 400m Relay
India's 4x400m women's relay team clinched its fifth consecutive gold medal in the Asian Games to maintain a remarkable domination in this event in the continental showpiece.
The Indian women's quartet of Hima Das, MR Poovamma, Saritaben Gayakwad and Vismaya Velluva Koroth ran 3 minute and 28.72 seconds to claim the gold.

Swapna Barman - Women's Heptathlon
Indian heptathlete Swapna Barman won a historic gold.
Barman notched up 6026 points for a remarkable win, battling rivals as well as pain.
She competed over two days with a bandaged chin due to a toothache which caused her a lot of pain, especially in the high jump.
Barman created history by becoming the first Indian heptathlete to win an Asian Games gold.

Saurabh Chaudhary created history by clinching a gold in men's 10 metre air pistol.
Chaudhary, who topped the qualifying round, shot a Games record score of 240.7 to pip Japan’s Tomoyuki Matsuda (239.7) in an exciting final.

Wrestling - Bajrang - Men's Freestyle 65 kg
Wrestler Bajrang Punia defeated Takatani Daichi of Japan to clinch India's first gold in the tournament.
He beat Takatani 10-8 in the final bout.
Punia won the elusive gold medal in the men's 65 kg freestyle division.
It is Punia's first gold at the Asian Games as earlier he had won silver in the previous edition at Incheon, South Korea.

Indian men's quadruple sculls team won the gold medal in the rowing finals at the Asian Games on Friday.
The Indian team comprising Sawarn Singh, Dattu Bhokanal, Om Prakash and Sukhmeet Singh finished on top ahead of Indonesia and Thailand.

Amit - Men's Light Fly (49kg)
Amit Panghal (49kg) on Saturday became only the eighth Indian boxer ever to claim a gold medal at the Asian Games with a stunning tactical win over reigning Olympic and Asian champion Hasanboy Dusmatov in the summit clash.
The 22-year-old Army man, the only Indian to make the finals, prevailed 3-2 against the more fancied Dusmatov, who had beaten him in a split verdict in last year's world championships.
Amit, making his debut at the Games, showed immense tactical brilliance, especially in defence to outwit the Uzbek, who has an iconic status in international boxing.
