As ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ is announced, here's a look at other female led movies that we have loved over the years

Moviegoers went crazy after a big project starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt was announced a few days back. The three actresses are coming together for a road trip movie titled ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ which will be helmed by Farhan Akhtar. While this will be the first female led road movie, over the years, audiences have loved the movies and shows that chronicles the female bonding. 

The multi starrer film 'Veere Di Wedding' was a female buddy film. It followed the story of four girls living in DAelhi and their struggles in life.

The movie starring  Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania received mix reviews and performed well at the box office.

Following the footsteps of 'Veere Di Wedding', a new show was launched on Amazon Prime 'Four More Shots Please!' The series too celebrated female bonding and narrated stories of four girls as they live, love, make mistakes and discover what really makes them tick through friendship and shots of tequila in millennial Mumbai.

'Lipstick Under My Burkha' was both relevant and relatable. Set in a middle class society in central India, the movie chronicles the secret lives of four women from different age groups, in search of freedom.

'Girls Hostel' explores the everyday lives of the students in a hostel, away from the home -- dealing with issues and paving their own way through struggles. 

'Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare' stars Konkona Sensharma and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. The story revolves around two cousins Dolly and Kajal and a secret that the two share. Living in the suburbs of New Delhi, all they dream of is a good life and through their complicated love-hate equation, they both enable each other to find freedom.

Netflix Polish comedy series is about three college girls of  totally different mindsets, who come together to build an innovative sex app and win a tech competition. They together explore the daunting world of intimacy.

The series chronicles the lives of three millennial women, portrayed by Katie Stevens, Aisha Dee, and Meghann Fahy, all of whom are employed at a women's magazine in New York. All three juggle their careers, romance, friendships and big-city lives while finding their own voices.
