The recent report of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife Aaliya seeking a divorce from him has once again reiterated the fact that marriages are tough to maintain in the world of showbiz. Nawazuddin and Aliya's divorce news is not the first to have hit the headlines, there were other celebrity divorces that created news in the past. Have a look.

Married for 11 years with two kids, Aaliya Siddiqui has now decided to send a legal notice to husband, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui seeking divorce from him. Citing "serious problems" in their marriage Aliya has sought for custody of her children and claimed that differences cropped up a year into the marriage but she tried to work it out with the actor for a long time.

Nawazuddin has so far refrained from commenting, although he had admitted to multiple affairs with co-stars in his controversial memoir which was retracted from the market after release.

Indian fashion fraternities most celebrated couple Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia called it quits in 2018 after being married for 20 long years. The couple have two daughters together. Rumours of their separation had been doing the rounds of internet for a few years- each time the two would deny the news. When they announced their separation, with a joint statement that said, "After a 20-year-long beautiful journey filled with love and beautiful memories, we would like to share, that all journeys have different paths. We feel that it is time for us to move on to different destinations henceforth." Arjun was linked to Sussanne Khan, ex wife of Hrithik Roshan on many occassion while he was still married to Mehr. Both Arjun and Sussanne had denied the link up news.

Arjun is now with model Gabriella Demetriades and the couple welcomed the birth of their son in July 2019.

Few months after calling off her engagement to actor Abhishek Bachchan, Karisma Kapoor had shocked many by marrying Delhi-based businessman Sunjay Kapur. Troubles started brewing few years into the marriage itself with insiders stating that Karisma was eager to stay in Mumbai while her husband was based in Delhi. The couple had their daughter Samaira in 2005 and son Kiaan in 2010. In 2014 they filed a petition for divorce by mutual content. But things took an ugly turn in 2015 over financial matters and custody of the children, Karisma even accused Sunjay and his mother of harrassing her for dowry. Finally, the Supreme Court directed the warring couple to agree to a settlement in an amicable manner in April 2016. They were subsequently granted divorce in June that year.

Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani were one of the most celebrated couples of Bollywood. When they announced their separation in 2016, most were surprised. The couple never cited the reason for their separation and have maintained a cordial relationship with each other and share custody of their two daughters. The two have also moved on and found love again. Farhan is dating Shibani Dandekar while Adhuna is now in a relationship with Nicolo Morea.

Perhaps one of the most shocking divorces in Bollywood was when Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan announced their separation. Rumours of Hrithik seeing co-stars Barbara Mori and Kangana Ranaut had floated, but were denied by the concerned parties. Sussanne's name too was dragged in Arjun Rampal-Mehr Jessia's marriage but that too was denied. The two were childhood sweethearts and their separation news on 2014 left many heartbroken. The two never shared the reason for their separation but remain close years after their divorce. Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora announced their separation after 18 years of marriage. The couple, who had met while shooting for an coffee commercial, have a son together. Rumours of Malaika Arora's closeness to Arjun Kapoor were doing the rounds a few years before she called it quits with Arbaaz. The couple have now moved on and are seeing other people. Arbaaz is dating model Giorgia Andriani while Malaika has made her relationship with Arjun Kapoor official.
