The TDP, which pulled out of the BJP-led NDA today, had said that it would back the no-confidence motion

The Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress formally said on Thursday that they will move a no-confidence motion against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha.

YSR Congress Party MP (Member of Parliament) YV Subba Reddy wrote to Lok Sabha Secretary-General for moving the motion on "No-Confidence in the Council of Ministers" in the house.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had immediately announced support for the YSR Congress motion of no-confidence. He reportedly has the backing of other Opposition parties as well.

TDP and YSR Congress have been agitating in both Houses over the special status demand for Andhra Pradesh.

A motion of no-confidence backed by nine MPs is much lesser than the 50 required for the motion to be admitted, even with the backing of 16 MPs of the TDP.

The no-confidence motion is likely to be defeated in the Lok Sabha.
