Worst floods in 100 years, 324 lives lost, says Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan put the death toll at 324 and described the floods as worst in 100 years.

As the state plunged deeper into misery today with hospitals facing shortage of oxygen and fuel stations running dry, Vijayan said 223139 people are in about 1500+ relief camps.

''Kerala is facing its worst flood in 100 years. 80 dams opened, 324 lives lost and 223139 people are in about 1500+ relief camps. Your help can rebuild the lives of the affected,'' he said. 

The CM sought donations and tweeted a link by clicking on it people can donate for the flood victims.

Vijayan also stated that road recovery after the flood is going to be a ''long one''. 

''For the people of Kerala, the road to recovery is going to be a long one. Your help no matter how small will be a step to restore normalcy,'' he said.
