Story highlights

Adityanath had said yesterday that Owaisi would have to flee Telangana if the BJP comes to power there, just like the nizam left Hyderabad. Owaisi responded that the nizam did not leave, he was made governor.

AIMIM chief, Asaduddin Owaisi, on Sunday launched an attack on BJP asking if those who speak against the saffron party or its leadership will be asked to leave the country.

Owaisi's comments came as a reaction to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's remark wherein he stated that Owaisi will have to flee the state if BJP comes to power in Telangana

Speaking at a rally in Malakpet, Hyderabad, the Telangana MP asked if it was not his nation and if speaking against PM Modi, the BJP or any of its affiliates will require him to leave the country.

Owaisi slammed Yogi Adityanath for saying that the Nizam was made to flee the land. The AIMIM chief added that the Nizam did not leave Hyderabad but was appointed as the Rajpramukh or governor.

"Aap tareekh to jaante nahi, history mein zero hain aap. Agar padhna nahi aata to padhne wale se poocho. Agar padhte to malum hota ki Nizam Hyderabad chhod kar nahi gaye, unko Rajpramukh banaya gaya tha. China se jang hui to yahi Nizam ne apna sona bech diya," he noted.

Yogi Adityanath made the statement on Asaduddin Owaisi at a public gathering in Tandur, Vikarabad ahead of the December 7 assembly elections in Telangana.

"If BJP comes to power, I assure you Owaisi will have to flee from Telangana the same way Nizam was forced to flee from Hyderabad," Adityanath had said.
