Bhartiya Janta Party President Amit Shah on Friday claimed that the construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya will commence before the 2019 elections, reports said.

His remarks came during a meeting which he held with his party members in Hyderabad, saying that there will be necessary actions taken towards launching the construction before the polls next year.

Interacting with nearly 30 leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) working at various levels in the state at a private hotel in Friday, he said the party is committed to the construction of the Ram Temple and expressed the confidence that necessary circumstances would emerge once the Apex court gave its judgment on the issue pending before it.

The BJP leader reportedly sought to consolidate the voters of Hindu faith against those of the minorities who are substantial in number in Telangana, by raising the temple issue.

Shah has been a day-long visit to Hyderabad to talk about ways to bring the party to power in the state.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the temple will be constructed before 2019 general elections and they shouldn't doubt Bharatiya Janata Party's intentions.
