Puducherry government has decided to extend the lockdown till May 31 to contain the spread of COVID-19, chief minister  V Narayanaswamy said on Monday.

During the cabinet meeting, the Puducherry government decided to allow the sale of liquor between 7am and 7pm from Tuesday.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee also extended the lockdown till May 31.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan recorded 33 new coronavirus cases and two deaths in the last 24 hours with the total number of cases rising to 5,375. The death toll in the state has risen to 212 due to COVID-19.

Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said today that 29 new coronavirus cases were reported today with the total number of cases in the state climbing to 630, including 130 active cases.

Chandigarh health department reported five new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases in the state to 196. 

The Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) said today that three new coronavirus cases were reported in the forces in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 294
