Story highlights
Modi was speaking at an election rally in Rajasthan's Pali district. Michel, a UK national and an accused in the alleged Rs 3,600 crore VVIP chopper scam, was a middleman in the deal.
"We got him from Dubai," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Wednesday of Christian Michel's extradition. Modi was speaking at an election rally in Sumerpur in Rajasthan's Pali district.
Michel, a UK national, is an accused in the alleged Rs 3,600 crore AgustaWestand VVIP chopper scam. He was extradited to India from Dubai on Tuesday, and will be produced in court on Wednesday.
"Helicopter kaand ke raazdar aur dalal ko sarkar Dubai se pakad ke layi hai. Ab raazdar raaz kholega, pata nahi baat kahan tak jayegi, kitni duur tak jayegi," Modi said on Wednesday.
The BJP had on Tuesday said Michel's extradition could spell "serious trouble" for the Congress's "first family" since the alleged scam dates back to the UPA era.
Modi on Wednesday took another swipe at the Gandhis, saying the Supreme Court had said the Indian government had the right to reasses Sonia and Rahul Gandhi's income tax returns.
"Ab dekhta hoon kaise bach ke nikalte ho," he added.

He took another swipe at the Congress president:
PM Narendra Modi: Congress President does not even know the names of his own party leaders. He did not even know the name of a very popular farmer and jat leader in Congress, late Kumbharam ji. And he mentioned Sonia Gandhi son-in-law Robert Vadra, whom the Enforcement Directorate has been questioning in connection with an alleged land scam in Bikaner.
PM Narendra Modi in Sumerpur, Rajasthan: They knew that the govt of India was bringing huge projects in Barmer, the prices of land were about to rise and the farmers were set to gain from it.
