The railway authorities have put a fine of Rs 1 lakh on a tea vendor in Railways on charges that the vendor was using water from the train toilet for brewing tea/coffee.

A video went viral on social media showing few people getting tea/coffee cans from outside a train toilet in Telangana.

The video which surfaced now on social media was shot at Secunderabad station in Telangana in December 2017.

The incident highlights the unhygienic conditions that prevail in Indian Railways.

A CAG report filed in Parliament in 2017 also highlighted that the Railways Ministry had failed to provide quality food served at reasonable prices.

The report said that train passengers were served filthy food and the zonal railways had no plan in place to provide food in long-distance trains.
