Marking the 26th anniversary of the Ayodhya Babri Masjid demolition on Thursday the VHP has decided to observe the day as `Shaurya Diwas`.

Days before it had organised a Dharam Sabha in Ayodhya on November 25 to seek support for the construction of a grand Ram temple.

The 'Shaurya Diwas' day is expected to witness a number of religious programmes and special prayers. The group is also likely to pay tribute to the karsewakes who were killed in the conflict.

VHP has also planned to undertake programmes for the occasion of Gita Jayanti on December 18 when it will garner support for the construction of the grand Ram Ayodhya temple.

On the 25th anniversary of the mosque's demolition last year also the VHP and the Bajrang Dal had observed the day as "Shaurya Diwas".

Muslim groups, on the other hand, had observed the day as "Yaum-e-Gham" day of sorrow.
