Uttar Pradesh: Hospital staff use man's amputated leg as pillow

In a shocking incident, hospital staff at Jhansi's Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College allegedly used a patient's amputated leg as a pillow for him after he was admitted there upon meeting with an accident.
One senior resident orthopaedic doctor, the nurse-in-charge and two more people have been suspended and proceedings against the consultant on-call doctor have been initiated, college principal Sadhna Kaushik said.

The college principal earlier confirmed the incident, stating that a committee had been set up to probe the incident and take action.
"He was given immediate medical aid. Doctor looked for something to raise his head. Patient's attendant used the leg for the same. We've set up the committee. Strict action will be taken if our staff is found to be at fault," Sadhna Kaushik, principal Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College earlier said.
