The toll this year in Uttar Pradesh has been unusually high. The recent deaths will have taken the toll to close to 200 since July 1.
The Met Department recently said this has been India's rainiest August in 5 years.
Met Department data recently also showed that while the monsoon extends from June 1 to September 30, most cities in the country get as much as 95% of their rainfall in only a few days.
