US stands with India in its quest for justice: Trump on 26/11

US President Donald Trump on Monday expressed support for India's fight against terrorism and remembered those who lost their lives in the ghastly Mumbai terror attacks on November 26, 2008. 

In a tweet, the US President noted that the "US stands with the people of India in their quest for justice," adding that terrorists will never "come close to winning."

"On the ten-year anniversary of the Mumbai terror attack, the US stands with the people of India in their quest for justice. The attack killed 166 innocents, including six Americans. We will never let terrorists win, or even come close to winning!," his tweet read. 

The United States Monday announced a $5 million reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction in any country of any individual who committed, conspired, aided or abetted the 2008 Mumbai attack.

The Trump Administration announced this major reward (of more than Rs 35 crore) on the 10th anniversary of the terror attack in which 10-Pakistan based LeT terrorists went on a shooting rampage in India's financial hub killing 166 people, including six Americans.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj on Monday welcomed the statement made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the 10th anniversary of  Mumbai terror attacks and called upon Pakistan to bring to justice perpetrators of the crime.

''I welcome the statement made by US Secretary of State Mr Mike Pompeo on the 10th anniversary of Mumbai terror attacks calling upon Pakistan to bring to justice the perpetrators of the attack. I urge Pakistan to heed the call of international community and fulfil it's its international obligations by implementing sanctions against those responsible for this historic act of terror,'' said the statement tweeted by EAM spokesperson Raveesh Kumar attributed to the external affairs minister.
